Clicker Training your Rottweiler: The Basics

Training puppies could be exceptionally tricky, and Rottweilers are no exception. One of most effective methods of training your dog is through clicker training your Rottweiler.
This method involves using a clicker, an essential tool used for training those stubborn puppies.

Now, you might be wondering how exactly a clicker works and how it will help train your dog. Well, it is simple, really. A clicker works by emitting a sharp and distinct sound which your dogs could recognize from over 20 yards away. Once you get your dog to associate the sound of a clicker with a task or command that you want your dog to obey, the rest will fall into place. The clicker Rottweiler training method will allow you to train your dog to do just about anything, from rolling over to sitting.

The best way to begin is by helping your Rottweiler recognize that the sound of the clicker is associated with treats or rewards. When training your dog, wait until he obeys a certain command that you want him to learn. Then, use the clicker while providing your dog with a tasty treat. Simply do this process repeatedly and your dog will pick up on this signal after about three markings. Eventually, you should be able to use the clicker without having to give your dog a treat. This is because, unlike verbal commands, the clicker helps ingrain the behavior in the minds of your puppy. This is why their immediate reaction to the sound of a clicker is one of eagerness for a treat or reward.

Training a Rottweiler takes patience and understanding. Just keep on trying and continue to reinforce the behavior with the clicker. Pretty soon, you will be able to communicate with your dog properly- even without the need for the clicker anymore!
